The MTHC is a group of trans and allied community organizers working to improve the health care experiences of transgender and gender variant people in Minnesota. The MTHC has developed lists of trans-friendly physicians and services, and provide trainings.

PHS Transgender Health Services at the University of Minnesota is a national leader in transgender services and offers therapy, consultation and clinical services.
- Trans Youth Support Network

TYSN works to promote racial, social and economic equality for trans youth, with the freedom to self-define gender identity and expression. TYSN does this through educating and connecting youth serving organizations, with the goal of being shaped, directed and led by trans youth.
- RECLAIM

RECLAIM is a nonprofit organization providing counseling and other support to LGBT-identified youth. It offers a weekly support group for non-gender-conforming youth, a monthly support group for trans-youth and their families, and a health clinic featuring acupuncture, chiropractic, massage and other therapies. RECLAIM serves youth ages 13-25.

The MNBoyz listserv is a place to share information for FTM, genderqueer, transmasculine, butch, etc-identified folks in the Twin Cities and greater MN/near midwest area.

Avenues for Homeless Youth/GLBT Host Home Program

Avenues for Homeless Youth provides emergency shelter, short term housing and support services for homeless youth in a safe and nurturing environment. The GLBT Host Home Program is a community-based response to GLBT youth homelessness, where volunteers open their homes to young GLBT people ages 16-21 who are experiencing homelessness or who are precariously housed (youth ages 16-17 are involved with permission from their family or guardians). While living in the host homes, youth have an opportunity to work on their goals without having to worry about food and shelter. Youth receive case management throughout their stay and both youth and hosts receive support as they navigate the challenges of building healthy and nurturing relationships while sharing a home.

YouthLink's Drop-In Center, also known as Project Offstreets, is a safe place youth can visit when there’s no where else to turn. It's a one-stop shop of sorts for homeless youth that offers basic health care needs, long-term housing referrals and help finding a job – all under one roof. The Drop-In Center is open Monday-Friday from 3:00-8:00 PM, and is closed Saturday & Sunday.

The Transgender Health Project Shot Clinic is a group of concerned trans folks helping out other trans folks with their hormone shots. We meet every Friday between 2:00-6:00 PM and can help you by administering your shots, teaching you to do the shots yourself and we can give you free needles and supplies. We offer a needle exchange, informational/ support group time and case management. We can hook you up with doctors and help you with different aspects of your transition. Minnesota Gender Advocates is a nonprofit advisory group for Trans, Intersex, Gender Queer, and Gender Questioning people (TIQQ) in the state of Minnesota.

Dr. Deborah Thorp is an OB/GYN Physician at Park Nicollet who self-identifies as a trans-friendly health care provider. If you previously experienced long waits for an appointment with Thorp, that is no longer the case. She has hired a new trans-friendly nurse practitioner that is helping her be more available to the trans community.

TMen provides support, community, and socializing for everyone on the transgender spectrum who was assigned female at birth and no longer feels that is complete or accurate. At this website, you can also sign up for the MNBoyz listserv.

Family & Children's Service is trans-friendly and offers counseling and other resources. Xavier Schmitz is a psychotherapist who specializes in working with transgender clients. He practices at both the Lake St and Bloomington locations, sees adults and adolescents, accepts most forms of insurance, and offers sliding scale. Xavier is a member of the trans community and feels passionately about providing a safe and affirming therapeutic space for individuals at all points of the transgender spectrum to feel empowered to identify and express their true selves. TransParent is a peer led support group in Minnesota for transgender parents and parents of transgender children, with strives to strengthen families and community by offering peer support, empowerment and advocacy to parents and children in the Transgender community.

SRLP works to guarantee that all people are free to self-determine gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, and without facing harassment, discrimination or violence.
- National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE)
NCTE is a social justice organization dedicated to advancing the equality of transgender people through advocacy, collaboration and empowerment.
- The Task Force
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Foundation (The Task Force) was the first national GLBT civil rights and advocacy organization and works to build the grassroots political power of the LGBT community to win complete equality.
- National Center for Lesbian Rights
The National Center for Lesbian Rights is a national legal organization committed to advancing the civil and human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their families through litigation, public policy advocacy, and public education.
- Transgender Law & Policy Institute
Non-profit organization dedicated to engaging in effective advocacy for transgender people. The TLPI brings experts and advocates together to work on law and policy initiatives designed to advance transgender equality.
