Gender Diversity

The Transgender Commission works towards a climate where all gender identities and expressions are valued and respected as a basic human right. Each person expresses their gender in their own unique way – transgender and non-transgender people alike – and we hope to build an environment that affirms, celebrates, and learns from this interwoven tapestry we refer to as gender diversity.
Coalition Building
The Transgender Commission is committed to working across identities and systems of oppression and to being an active part of larger social justice movements.
While our goals center on changing systems of gender, we must critically engage with how these systems intersect with systems of race, class, ability, age, culture, and the profound ways in which power and privilege play out across these matrices of identity and experience.
