The Office for Equity & Diversity oversees multiple initiatives across the University, and is comprised of the GLBTA Programs Office and five other service units:
Bridge to Academic Excellence
Bridge to Academic Excellence is designed specifically for students who have little or no experience of how college or university systems operate. Students who attend will come to campus the summer, prior to their first fall semester, to learn more about campus and enroll in University classes.
Disability Services
Disability Services is a catalyst for ensuring equal learning and working opportunities for students, faculty, staff and guests with disabilities by increasing the capacity of the University of Minnesota to eliminate physical, programmatic, policy, informational and attitudinal barriers.
Office for Equal Opportunity & Affirmative Action (EOAA)
EOAA is committed to eliminating individual and systemic barriers that inhibit individuals and groups from attaining equal access to University of Minnesota employment, education, programs, and services.
Multicultural Center for Academic Excellence (MCAE)
MCAE's mission is to develop and foster inclusive, coherent learning for multicultural undergraduates at the University of Minnesota through educational support programs, community engagement, cultural activities, and campus-wide collaborations.
Office for University Women (OUW)
OUW is charged with improving and enhancing the campus climate for women faculty, staff, and students by working with central administration, University colleges, administrative departments, the Faculty Senate, employee governance groups, and existing women’s programs.

Under the direction of Vice President and Vice Provost Dr. Nancy "Rusty" Barceló, the Office for Equity & Diversity is responsible for the University of Minnesota’s systemwide equity and diversity initiatives and programs, and for infusing the core values of equity and diversity into all aspects of teaching, learning, research, service, and outreach at the University.
